Discount Tire mobile service coming to Chicago

July 15, 2024
The company offers tire installation, inspection, and rotations and balancing, among other services.

Discount Tire's mobile tire installation service will be available in the Chicago market starting in August, the company said.

The mobile tire installation is available across 11 states, noted Tom Williams, the dealership’s chief experience officer, in an interview with Fleet Maintenance affiliate Modern Tire Dealer. He added that the company's mobile fleet van services are available in 14 states total at 30 locations.

On top of a full diagnostics report showing tire status and services performed, mobile fleet services include:

  • Tire installation
  • Tire and wheel inspections
  • Tread depth measurements
  • Air checks
  • Flat repairs
  • Rotations and balancing
  • TPMS resets

"Normally it's scheduled for trucks to be done here in our shop," said Johnny Aguilar, shop foreman at Hillcrest Contracting. "The people that drive those trucks know that [it gets done] on their time, which is a convenience for us."

The mobile techs can visit fleets during off-hours, and on a regulalry scheduled interval, including weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly.

“Discount Tire is constantly looking for ways to expand the services we offer to more drivers, while maintaining a commitment to safety and excellent customer service,” says Williams. “We anticipate expanding mobile tire installation in more cities and states.”

Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Discount Tire is one of the three largest independent tire dealerships in the United States and has more than 1,200 locations.

The company recently introduced its mobile service to the Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Midland, Texas markets.

“Markets are selected based on a variety of factors, including customer demand and our store footprint, Williams said. "The number of mobile installation vans varies per market and is constantly evolving.”
