AI-enabled app scans and tracks fleet tire tread data via smart devices

May 2, 2023
Anyline's Commercial Tire Tread Scanner can be used on any mobile device to help the commercial vehicle industry monitor tread depth and overall tire health. The company is also offering an early adopter program.

Vienna-based mobile data capture and scanning solution provider Anyline, has launched a Commercial Tire Tread Scanner that can be used on any camera-enabled smartphone or mobile device. The scanning solution allows fleet operators to improve tire performance and longevity, ensure driver safety and reduce vehicle inspection time.

A user simply points the smart device running the the AI-enabled software at the tire tread they want to measure, and the scanner creates a digital model of the tire.

This can be beneficial for fleet operators, tire technicians, and drivers, who can now quickly and easily scan tread depth and tire sidewall information, resulting in accurate and more consistent data. A typical method of tread-depth measurement in the past has been to use a quarter.

“Tire tread scanning is the fastest and easiest way to monitor the health of a tire,” said Lukas Kinigadner, CEO and co-founder of Anyline, which has a U.S.-based office in Fort Lee, New Jersey. “When fleet operators scan tire information accurately, they have better data on tire health, making it easier to pull a tire for replacement or retread at the optimal time. Fleet companies can optimize the use of each tire on their vehicles, which reduces costs, ensures vehicle uptime and enables fleet owners to better schedule maintenance.”

The tire data gleaned from the scanner is recorded digitally and can be shared across the organization as needed. The data can be linked to specific VINs or license plates, which Anyline can also digitally record. This provides fleets with more visibility into their tires’ health of each vehicle and helps maintenance departments prioritize which assets need immediate attention. The data can also be used to better understand tire longevity.

Commercial tire providers can integrate a wide range of modules alongside the scanner, including: Mobile SDK, Web SDK, or Cloud API for ease-of-use by end-customers.

Anyline is currently accepting companies into its Commercial Tire Tread Scanner Early Adopter Program. The company prefers large fleets that already require regular tire tread monitoring. Participating companies should also have newer mobile devices and be willing to work closely with Anyline product development over a two-to-three month period to provide feedback on performance and feature functionality.
